Planning a Romantic Dinner Date
If you enjoy spending time outdoors, look at the weather and see if you could set up a romantic picnic. Prepare a picnic basket with your partner’s favorite sandwiches, fresh fruit, juice, salad and dessert. Think outside the box and consider having a picnic at midnight with a warm mug of hot cocoa, while gazing at the stars! If the weather isn’t so nice, have a picnic in bed or in front of a fireplace at home.
Consider your budget. If you can afford it, go out and enjoy a fine meal at a restaurant you’ve both wanted to try. Go out to watch a play, a musical, an open-mike event or even a movie.
Limited budget? No problem. You can turn a regular dinner into a romantic dinner simply by turning down the lights and using candlelight and background music. Add flair to the table with fresh-cut flowers from your garden. You can both wear your nicest clothes and even include a post-dinner dance in your living room!
Unsure of what to eat for dinner? Why not prepare your partner’s favorite comfort food. When in doubt, most men love pizza and most women love chocolate. It would be hard to go wrong with these menu items! To add a special touch, you can add extra pepperoni in the form of a heart or you can spell out your initials with various toppings. Have chocolate fondue, just the two of you, and feed each other fruit dipped into chocolate.
Don’t forget drinks! While champagne is too expensive for everyday occasions, you should be able to find good-quality wine that will complement your meal. Sipping wine while talking and connecting with your partner can also be a romantic activity.
